Volunteers needed (2)

With the increasing need for our services we are seeking 2 Volunteer Group facilitators to support members in group sessions that encourage social interaction to build confidence and connection.

The role involves leading and supporting activities in a calm, inclusive environment and responding appropriately to any issues of frustration and distress which can be upsetting for both the individual and other group members.

Volunteers ideally able to commit to 3-4 hours when we open on Wednesdays 1-9pm.

Essential Requirements

A strong understanding of Asperger’s/autism in adults

Experienced in working with autistic adults 

Calm, confident manner with the ability to command respect within a group

Ability to manage challenging situations sensitively and safely

Safeguarding training 

Enhanced DBS check
