Welcome to ASPIE
Founded by an Asperger adult, ASPIE is a specialist support and therapy centre providing a safe space for autistic adults.
Members can drop the mask and find acceptance, friendship and support to increase their self-worth and confidence to achieve the social inclusion, education, employment and cultural opportunities they long for.
We open twice weekly 52 weeks of the year to provide the routine and predictability autistic adults need. Activities and services include opportunities for socialising, peer groups, games, pool, drama, group art, quizzes and workshops in understanding autism, social cues and barriers, employment and everyday living. ASPIE Avengers, our football club, promotes inclusion, physical health and community engagement.
These varied activities are stepping stones to improving social and interacting skills, whilst reducing anxiety in a constant venue. Having said that, there is no pressure. Members can take part at their own pace or just sit and be.
Everyone at ASPIE has lived experience of autism. The ASPIE team includes qualified counsellors and psychotherapists, an experienced drama tutor, a qualified art psychotherapist and a qualified football coach, combining professional expertise with a genuine understanding of autism.
