Update

Lots going on.

ASPIE Avengers had a spectacular win at their first friendly match last Thursday.

Lizzie and Julia represented ASPIE at the Police and Crime Commissioner’s bash, FORWARD TOGETHER SHOWCASE at Shrewsbury’s Sport Village on Sunday 5 July. This was an opportunity to network with Shrewsbury’s magistrates (they have received awareness of autism training) and Shrewsbury’s clinical commissioning group. It seems Shropshire has a better handle on Asperger’s than Worcestershire!

On Monday we had the first meeting with Louise at Sainsbury’s St John’s following our success as being chosen by their customers as their charity of the year. Later the same morning, Justin, Stuart and Julia attended the Autism Strategy meeting at County Hall which Justin chaired.

Bill was invited by Worcestershire Mental Health Relative & Carers Support Group to speak to their members at Osborne Court in Malvern in the evening. This is the feedback –
We had a fantastic talk at our mental health carers group last night from Bill Say, it was really excellent and a lot of our members felt it helped them to understand a little bit more about Aspergers. Also a couple of family members with Aspergers attended, as well as Stuart from ASPIE, and it was great to get their point of view and shared experiences.
