At ASPIE it’s not just April that is Autism Acceptance Month…
we focus on acceptance, understanding, friendship and inclusion at all times. We provide what aspies tell us they need, but not commissioned.
Firstly, autistic adults from all parts of Worcestershire (and beyond) check in at our centre every week of the year, finding that friendship and acceptance they’ve never had before and importantly a sense of belonging. This weekly routine is vital for adults who crave predictability and is magical in ensuring members feel safe and less anxious in an environment tailored to suit them, enabling them to breathe, share experiences and find a measure of happiness to fuel motivation into education, training and employment as well as enabling them to cope for the rest of the week in the world outside which shows little compassion towards those who are different. Secondly, autism-specific counselling pre and post diagnosis and for a range of other debilitating issues to held avert depression and crisis.
If you would like to hear more about us, our ethos and activities you are welcome to visit Wednesdays 1-9 or Saturday afternoons 1-5. We look forward to meeting you.
